TPU is another type of polyurethane membrane (of polyurethane basis) combined with polycarbonate sheets (PC) of various thicknesses to create security windows with the aim of protecting people and their property from natural or human threats, granting durability and security to the laminated glass panes in which it is used, as well as combining the advantages of a "regular" membrane such as UV protection, transparency and noise reduction.

It is possible to weld laminated glass with TPU-PC, either in an asymmetrical or a symmetrical combination.

It is mainly used in bulletproof constructions with appropriate bulletproof glass combinations, where the last surface component of the laminated glass must remain unbreakable after impact, resulting in the avoidance of shards being dispersed into the protected area.

According to EN 1063, the characterization of these compositions is NS (NON-SPALLING).

The reduction of the thickness of the bullet-resistant laminated glass combined with the increase of its durability is the ultimate goal of VASGLASS, with the help of the advanced technology of its mechanical equipment and the addition of advanced methods for the production of innovative products.

It is the duty and aim of VASGLASS, through specially designed compositions, to produce new laminated bulletproof glass with improved performance, smaller width and weight and generally to use such technologically advanced materials. The technology of these materials allows for their better performance under mechanical stress, with smaller weight.

VASGLASS allows for laminated glass panes with TPU+PC to be fully certified according to the EN 12600, EN 356 and EN 1063 security architectural standards.
