The interest of engineers, architects and of the market in general in glass as a construction material has led to an increase of its popularity, since it creates the illusion of wide spaces with natural lighting and it can be used as the facade of buildings, creating a sense of transparency.
Laminated safety glazing has contributed in the expansion of the use of glass in buildings, since it can cover much larger spaces, in higher buildings, while maintaining high levels of safety performance.
At VASGLASS laminated glass is manufactured under certification (CE marked), according to the European standards EN 12543 and EN 14449, under the brand-name VAS-SAFE, out of a combination of two, three (triplex glass) or more glass panes with interlayers of various types.
The mechanical properties, as well as other properties of the laminated glass, can be adjusted (by managing the width and the number of the membranes and the antivandal glass panes) in order to satisfy the special needs of each type of application, the most demanding clients, as well as in order to function as a multifaceted structural material. The principal safety and protection characteristic of VASGLASS laminated glass, branded as VAS-SAFE, is that upon breakage the interlayer that holds the laminated glass bonded, on the one hand prohibits glass shards from dispersing, and on the other hand, in a supported installation, the glass structural integrity is maintained. Therefore, the laminated glass will hold until its replacement.

VASGLASS, always in compliance with the new European safety regulations, offers laminated glazings in the market with yet another certification (Ce-marked), according to the European standard EN 12600 (pendulum impact test method for the classification of injury risk).

All VAS-SAFE laminated glazings, irrespective of the type of membrane (PVB, SGP, DG41, ACOUSTIC, TPU, SG41), are certified in accordance with European Standard ΕΝ 12600.
